When it comes to ‘health’ most people truly want optimal wellness and longevity. Let’s change want to have!

No one really desires to be sick. Yet our hospitals and cemeteries are full of victims of lifestyle-related diseases. Over the years many patients have said to me, “If only I had stopped smoking years ago; if only I had exercised more; if only I had beaten my sugar addiction; if only I had looked into a change to healthy eating; if only….” It is a great thought to believe we are immortal until we discover that we are not.

It is possible to live a long, happy and healthy life and to pass without experiencing the suffering associated with long drawn out diseases. However, with most people, such a possibility would require change NOW.

No measure or effort is too small. Simply making the decision to alter one’s daily lifestyle is a big step in the right direction. Small changes in eating habits can have a huge impact, while regular daily exercise, early nights and proper hydration will promote high energy levels and clarity of mind.

Make a decision to go refined sugar-free!

Refined sugar hit the market as a commercial product in 1820. Prior to that it was mostly only consumed by the Royals, who often suffered from 21st Century diseases. The people of the past generally had bitter palates. According to the Medieval author, Nicholas Culpepper, most preferred bitter herbs and savoury dishes. Children were rarely rewarded with sweets, as they too preferred bitter. These days we generally reward our children with sweets, often setting them up with a life-long addiction to health-destroying products. Dr Weston Price, who spent ten years in the field studying indigenous societies, found that the disease-free population groups, that mostly lived to well over one hundred years, rarely consumed anything sweet. Moreover, fruit was a delicacy only eaten in season. Price documented many cases of robust indigenous children who all had naturally bitter-savoury palates.

We probably all know people who violated the natural laws of health for decades before suffering any consequences, but recent statistics indicate that such anomalies are very rare these days. We probably also knew people who enjoyed the pleasures of bad living for just a season before decline and death took them by surprise.

Change requires tenacity. Habits can take weeks to beat, but firm resolve will produce a lifestyle that can elevate you right up to the high places of life! It is worth the effort.

The Benefits of Thai Massage http://www.lvs.com.au/benefits-thai-massage/ http://www.lvs.com.au/benefits-thai-massage/#respond Thu, 24 Nov 2016 02:54:38 +0000 http://www.lvs.com.au/?p=6673 The post The Benefits of Thai Massage appeared first on Living Valley.

Thai massage is an ancient healing technique that has been practised for over 2500 years. It was developed as a therapeutic method of healing to treat illness and maintain health and wellbeing.

It focuses on achieving a state of deep relaxation of mind and body by using rhythmic rocking, stretching and pressure point techniques. These techniques are used throughout the treatment to restore energy while producing an experience of profound calmness. It is the combination of energetic and physical techniques that makes Thai Massage unique and so effective. Thai Massage is a full-body treatment, starting from the feet and progressing up to the head.

Improved mental wellbeing – Thai Massage can improve mental energy and reduce muscle pain. A study showed significant improvement in the three outcome measures: self-rated health, mental energy and muscle pain only in the Thai Massage group compared to a group that only did relaxation techniques. Massage is said to increase delta wave frequency and decrease alpha and beta waves in our brains. This suggests a relaxation response, as the delta wave frequency is associated with deep rest and sleep.

Decreased stress levels – Thai Massage can calm the mind and body, therefore minimising the production of cortisol, the stress hormone, and reducing muscle tension. A recent study concluded that Traditional Thai Massage decreases psychological stress, boosting serotonin levels and reducing cortisol.

Decrease in muscle tension and pain  especially upper back pain – Traditional Thai Massage can benefit people with back pain. A study showed that Traditional Thai Massage produced decreases in EMG, muscle tension and pain intensity after the end of treatment session (p<0.05), thus concluding Thai Massage can increase physical relaxation and reduce pain in patients with upper back pain.

As a behavioural treatment for autistic children – The findings of a 2009 study has shown that Traditional Thai massage provides some degree of improvement to stereotypical behaviours in autistic children. Research in this area has noted that massage will result in fewer displays of self-stimulating behaviours, better sleep patterns, improved receptivity to touch and less aggressive behaviour thus making the child more self-aware and relaxed.

Traditional Thai Massage stimulates blood circulation, improving oxygen and nutrient supply to all body tissues. It also promotes the elimination waste products via the lymphatic system. The increased circulation to the brain reportedly decreases the frequency of migraines and headaches. Thai massage is often applied as a complementary therapy in the treatment of foot sensation in diabetic patients with peripheral neuropathy. It is also known to improve balance performance in athletes. All round, this traditional therapy has a proven record for optimising general health.

Depression is the leading cause of disability worldwide. In Australia, it is estimated that 45 percent of people will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime. In any one year, around one million Australian adults suffer from depression, and over two million have anxiety. While depression and anxiety are different conditions, it is very common for them to occur at the same time. Over half of those who experience depression also experience symptoms of anxiety. In some cases, one can lead to the onset of the other.

In 2008 the Australian Bureau of Statistics reported that one million people in Australia were suffering from clinically diagnosed depression and 2.3 million with chronic anxiety.

Beyond Blue estimates that Depression will be second only to heart disease as the leading medical cause of death and disability within 20 years. The economic impact caused by depression-associated disabilities is massive, costing the Australian economy around $15 billion dollars annually. More than 6 million working days are lost each year while over $600 million in treatment costs are funded by the government.

According to the World Health Organization, death from suicide accounts for more fatalities than all armed conflicts globally or all deaths from traffic accidents. There are approximately 900,000 suicides per year worldwide. Suicide is now one of the three leading causes of death among people aged 15-34 years. Approximately 2000 Australians die from suicide every year. Men are 4 times more likely to die by suicide than women and they use more violent means generally to end their lives. In 2010, 1.6% of all Australian deaths registered were attributed to suicide.

So, what is going on? Is life getting too hard for many people? Has our culture changed? Whereas the family unit of old provided shelter, encouragement and support, are we seeing too many broken homes today? Are Dads and mums too busy? Are television, social media and modern music having an impact? Is the pace of life too fast for many? Are expectations too high? Is it the fast food and lack of proper nutrition? Has love become just a word in parts of our society?

Whatever impact these influences may have had on us, life is too short to waste one moment on stinking thinking. We need to get over it and start smelling the roses. Unfortunately, there are also thorns, briers and thistles constantly vying for our attention. However, we need not give them our focus.

There are clearly two powers at work in this world. One exists for a self-centred benefit, resulting in heartache and destruction while the other lives to bless others. For example, hundreds of thousands of young girls in third world countries have been captured, drugged and sold into prostitution, while members of various benevolent organisations risk their lives to rescue and rehabilitate as many as they can. Atrocities happen daily in Africa and other countries, while benevolent organisations comprising doctors, nurses and support staff risk their lives to aid the victims. What a crazy world!

The answer for depression is often found simply in the concept of changing one’s focus. While many external or lifestyle factors can help significantly, the real solution lies in doing things to make a difference in the lives of others. There is nothing more exhilarating than saving another’s life or even just helping an old lady cross the road. When one dares to venture outside the dark corridors of the black dog syndrome to find ways to bless someone else, a temporary relief is experienced. A young, depressed man attended this clinic many years ago. He had a very low opinion of himself and was suicidal. He did not work and his diet was depressive, to say the least. During his two-week stint at this retreat, he learnt the importance of good dietary fats and controlled carbohydrates in the management of depression.  He was also challenged to find all the old or needy people in his town and to do whatever he could to make their lives better. On returning to his home he did it! At first, it was very difficult, but he started knocking on doors offering his free services to mow lawns, wash windows and paint fences. The old people loved him and showed him gratitude. In time he discovered that the key to his depression was found in blessing others. The exercise also helped significantly.

Other things that one can do to help alleviate depression include:

  1. Remove clutter and organise your home. Disorganisation around us produces confusion within us. Begin with a drawer or small closet and schedule a specific time to tackle it. Throw out things you will never use.
  2. Draw up a ‘To-Do’ list and write down everything that is unresolved in your mind. Revise the list every day. Set new goals. Make plans for a happy future.
  3. Establish a daily schedule for waking up, eating meals and attending to business, etc.
  4. Use music therapy. A study published in Mexico reports repeated listening to certain classical works — including one by Mozart — helps ease the debilitating symptoms of clinical depression.
  5. Use cheerful colours and good lighting.
  6. Pursue a purpose worth dying for.
  7. Recognise and remove all roots of bitterness. Forgive everyone who has offended you and try blessing your enemies. It works!
  8. Give positive greetings and smile. Forget about your own feelings and focus on how much your words and smiles will benefit others.
  9. Have a full physical check-up. Consider hormonal changes, thyroid function, sleep patterns, other illnesses, genetic factors, spinal malalignment, colon health, nutritional deficiencies, etc. The naturopaths at Living Valley can help you to assess all of these factors.
  10. Consider your spiritual wholeness. Reach out to the Creator through prayer, and tell Him of all your burdens. He says, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.” Matthew 11:28-29.

Living Valley employs a professional counsellor, along with a team of naturopaths, natural therapists and support staff. The attention is amazing and the program itself is healing for body, mind and spirit. You are invited. Call 1800 644 733 to find out how we can help you.

August 25th – Update

Indigenous health retreat volunteer project

This week we are very excited to send two of our staff members back to Elcho Island to support Hope for Health with their first ever Island Health Retreat Program!

Hope for Health is a Yolngu lead initiative based on Elcho Island in North east Arnhem land and Living Valley has had the privilege of partnering with Hope for Health to provide ongoing support for their start up health retreat.

Last year in April a group of Yolngu women from Hope for Health, came to Living valley to experience a healthier way of Living by coupling education with that experience. They learned so much during this time and were able to take their new found information back to their community and use it to empower the Yolngu people to reclaim their traditional diet as a way forward for their health and healing.

Indigenous Health Project Update with JessJessica Gaunt, one of our experienced Naturopaths and Michelle Luxford one of our friendly hospitality workers here at living Valley who went to Elcho Island in August 2015 to follow up with the women and provide on going support. The Yolngu women had such fantastic results in this time which was largely due to them returning back to their traditional diet.

Since then Living Valley has been providing ongoing care to Hope for Health and its Yolngu participants.

So this week we will be sending off Jessica and Michelle as support workers for Hope for Health’s Yolngu Island Health Retreat which will involve 30 Yolngu participants going through a two-week detox health program to learn and experience health and wellness in their own environment.

Michelle will be working closely with other volunteers on the program in the kitchen providing nutritious meals, facilitating detox menu’s and offering hands on support wherever is needed.

Jessica will be actively supporting the Yolngu participants through Naturopathic consultations, food and nutrition coaching and on going wellness support. Jessica will also be keeping the Living Valley community up to date on the latest information with regular blog posts.

So stay tuned on this exciting journey in the restoration of hope, health and life with the Yolngu people. Follow us for updates on Facebook and Instagram – @livingvalley and @jess.gaunt

Your Prostate, Learn the Facts & Uncover the Fiction http://www.lvs.com.au/prostate-fact-fiction/ http://www.lvs.com.au/prostate-fact-fiction/#comments Thu, 11 Aug 2016 01:41:58 +0000 http://www.lvs.com.au/?p=6228 The post Your Prostate, Learn the Facts & Uncover the Fiction appeared first on Living Valley.

Well here are the facts guys!  Almost all men from the age of 40 onwards will experience some urinary symptoms as their prostate enlarges naturally.

It’s a fact that as men age their hormones change and testosterone is converted into a more potent form called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT causes an overproduction of prostate cells, which in turn causes it to enlarge, causing urinary problems. This enlargement has become one of the most common debilitating conditions experienced amongst men. This prevalence increases with age, 10% of men diagnosed at age 30, 40% diagnosed at age 50 and 90% over 85.

Let’s talk about the Prostate Gland and what it actually is?

The prostate gland is a vital component in the male reproductive system, located underneath the bladder, wrapped around the urinary tract.  Its function is to produce the fluid that carries and nourishes the sperm.

Why can this gland malfunction?

Due to men’s hormones changing as they grow older. The prostate can grow larger and then it can start to press on the urethra. As it enlarges, often the bladder outlet is obstructed, increasing urinary frequency and urgency, causing intermittent flow, reduced force and the necessity for night visits to the bathroom. This enlarged prostate can result in a disease called benign hyperplasia which can clamp down on the urethra blocking it from transporting urine from the bladder and out of the penis or resulting in frequent urination, difficulty voiding, urinary tract infections and leakage.

Living Valley Men’s Health Packages

Here at Living Valley Retreat, we have been helping men of all ages distress, lose weight, improve muscle mass and assist with overall health for 27 years. Like to learn more about these packages? Please leave your details and we will contact you to discuss your needs.

Investigative Therapy

An annual digital rectal examination can determine the size of the prostate. Blood tests can reveal adverse changes in hormonal chemistries. A variety of factors can be responsible for the changes that produce prostate enlargement. Rather than seeking mere symptom relief it’s better to take a more holistic style of approach and improve your overall health:

Natural Medicine

Natural medicine has a lot to offer for both prevention and treatment of enlargement of the prostate or BPH. As testosterone levels decrease due to ageing, the body will use an enzyme known as 5-α-reductase to convert testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), reducing the double bond of the testosterone, producing a far more potent androgen. DHT stimulates the cells to multiply excessively, eventually causing the prostate to enlarge. There are some natural substances that can inhibit the enzyme, 5-α-reductase, and thus prevent the conversion of testosterone to DHT.

A herb well known for the prostate is Saw palmetto. In many clinical studies, Saw Palmetto has been shown to greatly improve the signs and symptoms of enlarged prostate.

How To Improve Your Overall Prostate Health

  • Check your vitamin and mineral status with your Naturopath. Zinc has been shown to reduce the size of the prostate gland & reduce symptoms of BPH in a majority of people. Nutritional deficiency is a big factor in BPH. A lack of zinc, copper, selenium, folate, iodine and omega 3 fatty acids in the diet could contribute to the problem.
  • Ensure a whole food diet with plenty of good fats, protein and complex carbohydrates. Refined, processed and sweet foods deplete the body of vital nutrients.
  • Increase your consumption of tomatoes, onions and garlic. Stew tomatoes with onions, garlic & olive oil. Doing this will provide the antioxidant lycopene found in tomatoes & sulphur compounds found in the onion and garlic which are both effective in the maintenance of a healthy prostate.
  • Increase the Omega 3 Fatty Acids in your diet. These can be found in fish, flaxseed, nuts, seeds, avocado have many benefits due to their anti inflammatory effects. People with BPH often have an underlying EFA deficiency in their prostatic and seminal secretions.
  • Use Maca Powder. It’s a Peruvian root vegetable that provides nutrients for the prostate, studies have also shown its helps shrink the prostate. Men the bonus is it will also enhance sexual performance!
  • Reduce alcohol consumption as it can be linked to BPH. Alcohol increases prolactin levels and effects testosterone uptake in the prostate, while decreasing zinc and other nutrient levels.
  • Check the Central Nervous System. Spine problems in the lower back can reduce nerve supply to the prostate. This can be aggravated by poor posture and lack of exercise. Chiropractic assessments followed by a series of adjustments have saved lives in cases of prostate disease.
  • Check your teeth. Mercury vapour from amalgam fillings can indirectly affect prostate hormone levels. Dental infection (failed root canal therapy) can also result in inflammatory changes that can exacerbate prostate issues.
  • Consider counselling. Prostate conditions have been associated with relationship problems, breakups and a lack of emotional and sexual fulfilment in marriage.
  • Increase exercise. In a study reported in the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine, walking 2 or more hours a week lowers your risk of BPH by 25%.
  • Get your Naturopath to mix you up some herbs that support the prostate and to help balance your hormones!
  • Or just eat well cooked tomatoes on a regular basis.

Revive your prostate by joining one of our programs here at Living Valley Health Retreat.

Living Valley Health Retreat can really help!  We assess your overall health, your vitamin and mineral status, provide Men’s healing time, educate you in all areas of your health, increase your fitness levels with gym training or boxercise and we put you on the right track, supporting you the entire time.

I arrived at Living Valley Health Retreat in October 2015 feeling depleted, exhausted and broken after a year of intense Chemotherapy and Radiation treatment. Here I share with you my story of survival, a story into my life last year, how I felt at the end of my treatment and the transformation that I experienced after 14 nights at Living Valley Health Retreat – A very different girl to the one that arrived!

The Diagnosis, Surgery & Treatment

It was February 17th, 2015. I remember the date clearly. I was told the news that you don’t ever believe that you will hear ‘Beck you have Breast Cancer and in my honest opinion you need immediate treatment and surgery.’ My life in that moment in time, changed forever. My cancer was already at a very advanced stage and the tests were showing that it had started to spread. The tumour was grade 3, stage 3, triple negative and for those that don’t know what this means, it means that the cancer was at a very aggressive stage.

I carry the BRCA1 gene which is a genetic mutation passed on at birth by a parent, my Mum in fact. This gene is very strong in my family and we have lost many relatives both females and males, however many have survived – just like myself including my beautiful mum! Because I am a carrier of this gene, I have been having ultrasounds and mammograms for the past 10 years. I was three months off my yearly scans when I found a lump. It was rock solid and protruding out of my left breast. I had been feeling run down and very tired, which was unusual for me. But when I found that lump I got that anxious sick feeling, I just knew what it was. I went to the doctor straight away, a biopsy was booked and within one week I was laying in a hospital waiting for a double mastectomy. My life as I knew it was about to change, life was heading in another directly on fast forward. After the double mastectomy I started weekly chemotherapy for a gruelling six months, with daily radiation treatment to follow over 5 weeks and a few other surgeries thrown in as well. It felt as though I was trying to drowning and struggling to keep afloat.

The months to follow were an absolute blur and the surgery was tough, really tough! I woke up in a lot of pain and then everyday to follow. My body was struggling and so was my mind. The drive that kept me going was the huge support network that constantly surrounded me, my gorgeous friends and family, the amazing team of doctors and the nurturing natural healers that strengthened my heart and body. These beautiful people kept me focused and made everything that much easier to deal with and accept. One thought that never left my mind was to live! I remember calling my mum and one stage saying I have to stop treatment, I just can not go on, it is too hard, it hurts, I feel sick and I just need to stop. She told me to never, ever give up because the world needed me! So I thought of those words so often.

After my surgery I spent the next few weeks with drains protruding from my chest, consistent mind numbing pain, and not being able to sleep. I felt odd, like a part of me was missing and there was the endless mind chatter but that was nothing compared to the restless, painful, sleepless nights that followed.

On top of all this was the stress of money, money was tight. If I chose to go the public system it could of been too late. So I decided to go privately and due to this I had to continue to work part time to pay the out of pocket expenses. I can honestly say this was a struggle in its own right however I was lucky to have such a supportive family and friends to help me. Fortunately after surgery I had some annual leave available to use, so I was able to spend the next few weeks recovering. It was after this time I started Chemotherapy, I had to go back to working three days to earn just enough to cover rent, food, medication, surgery, natural therapies. All of these necessities are not not cheap, but I had no option but to follow this path. Through my continued support of family and friends I kept focused on the end result thus helping to keep my mind strong. My dear friend Michelle who is a Naturopath would spend hours with me, nurturing and strengthening my mind and body through natural medicine. Every day throughout this journey I meditated, every day sometimes all day as much as I could. Often the mind chatter would not stop but it helped and Yoga was a huge part of my healing also.

During the months that followed surgery and chemotherapy I focused all of my energy on a holistic recipe for recovery and strength. The ingredients consisted of good whole food nutrition, lots of sleep and rest time, walks by the ocean, laughs with family and friends, mindfulness, meditation and yoga as mentioned. Mixing these the right way was such an integral part of my healing. I also dropped in the mixture a Chinese Doctor, herbs from my Naturopath and regular acupuncture. Fortunately I also had an incredible Oncologist that supported my choice to continue with Natural Medicine during my treatment, I believe this played a major part in my recovery in the end.

A couple of months into recovery I was told I had to go back in for a few more surgeries, this rocked my boat and I started to panic, I felt anxious thus leading to bouts of depression. All my strength and the goodness that had gone into my body I felt draining away. I now felt emotional, depleted, stressed, anxious and depressed and and I was tired oh sooo tired it had been over 6 months of gruelling treatment and I felt like I had barely slept. Lack of sleep thrown in with drug induced menopause was not a good mix. Yes you heard right I was now in full blown menopause. My head and body had changed and I felt like it was spiralling out of control and I couldn’t control it.

My body was now in full menopause from the drugs and that alone is not a nice process to have to experience on top of everything else.  However, as I am a stubborn and determined person I pushed myself as hard as I could to rise each day with a grateful heart and to smile because at the end of the day I was alive, I was fighting this and I was winning!  My strong and determined mind never let me down, I constantly thought about my future, about feeling well, about sleeping soundly, about having fun with my family and friends. I knew I had so much to live for, so much to look forward to and that I was loved by many and this drove me to push forward.

Let me tell you, My Mum was my rock, my hero, I called her many times because I needed her, I needed her to help me, listen to me, to give me that hope.  At times I felt I was falling, I felt I could not take it anymore, then she would help me push forward and climb that mountain a little bit more. I couldn’t take the drugs, the pain, the sleepless nights, everything was going in slow motion, I was sick of hospitals, doctors, blood tests, appointments and I just wanted my normal health life back!  I was exhausted and I was so over it.

My mum was my saviour she kept pushing me, she told me to stay strong, that I was a fighter and that I could do this. She said the world needed me, that I had too much to give and to never, ever, ever give up.  So I didn’t!

My Recovery

Once the journey had finished all I wanted to do was escape, I needed to feel the sun on my body, I needed good food and loads of rest. Actually I felt like running away and just being on my own. My amazing friends organised a fundraiser and I used the money to book a 14 night detox retreat to Living Valley Health Retreat in the Noosa Hinterland on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. I had heard about the medically designed detox programs that they offered for pre and post treatment and I just knew that it was the perfect escape for me.

This turned out to be the BEST DECISION I have ever make. It changed and saved my life all at the same time.

So one week after finishing treatment I packed the car, hit the road, spent some time recovering on the gorgeous beaches of the Sunshine Coast, immersing myself in sunshine and yoga and then I headed over to Living Valley for 14 days of recovery.

I often think back to how I felt when I arrived at Living Valley – my head was foggy, I was crying a lot, I was not sleeping still, I had gained a lot of weight from all the steroids, my skin was severely burnt from the Radiation and I felt just unwell and not my normal vibrant self.

On my second day I met with Toby (John Tobin), Living Valley’s head Naturopath and I was amazed at his knowledge about Breast Cancer. He knew a lot and he had great advice and he genuinely cared about what I had experienced and wanted to support me with my recovery.  Together we created a life long plan of health moving forward and to this day I am very much on journey.

He placed me onto a Ketogenic diet, cut out all sugars and encouraged me to have detox clay wraps and steam up to twice a day in Living Valley’s russian steam bath, which I did. My two weeks consisted of 4 days of cleansing both weeks, detox mud wraps, facials, massages, steam baths, sunshine, beautiful bush walks and even a hike to the top of Mount Cooroora, twice!

During my two weeks I had three appointments with Toby, he also did a live blood analysis to check my cells and gave me a detailed plan to take home. The information he shared and the research that he did to help me understand this disease so much better and it gave me the tools to work with to make positive changes to my nutrition and life moving forward.

I am sharing my journey in the hope that this reaches out to the many women and men suffering not only from breast cancer but many chronic illnesses and diseases and to let you know that Living Valley can help, it honestly changed my life and I do not think I would be as well as I am if it wasn’t for my two weeks here!

When I arrived I was depleted, I had no energy and when I left I felt as though I could have run a marathon, the transformation was unbelievable! I had completely regained my health, I was exploding with vitality and I was ready to start my new, healthy life.

I was able to take all of the lessons and education that I gained from my time here and make them a part of my life. From the moment I left the anxiety and depression went, never to return and the burns from Radiation had completely healed after 10 days.

My heart is full of so much gratitude for the wisdom shared here, for the devotion of the therapists and to all of the staff for caring for me and supporting on my journey to wellness.

Thank you Living Valley Health Retreat.

Beck xx

Jess is on her way, and will be updating this blog post as she goes, so please keep reading below to stay up to date:

Last April, a group of twelve Yolngu women traveled from Arnhem Land to the Sunshine Coast. Their dream was to take the experience and learning offered by Living Valley Health Retreat back to their community. The overall goal was to create a local retreat and health coaching solution in Arnhem Land. The team at Living Valley was instrumental in preparing & equipping these ladies with the tools they needed to start a health revolution amongst their own people.

Jessica Gaunt, one of our experienced Naturopaths and Michelle Luxford one of our friendly hospitality workers here at living Valley who went to Elcho Island in August 2015 to follow up with the women and provide on going support.

So stay tuned on this exciting journey in the restoration of hope, health and life with the Yolngu people.Follow their progress on Facebook or www.hopeforhealth.com.au and help spread the word on social media! Watch as Giselle Eve, chef and real food creator, demonstrates how to make fresh juices to cleanse and nourish the body, healthy nut butter and delicious natural soft serve ice-cream! We’ve been using the Champion Juicer at Living Valley Health Retreat for over 20 years and have found it to be both extremely reliable and long lasting.

Buy your own Champion Juicer & save $130!

Let us make the juice for you! Come for a visit as our guest at Living Valley Health Retreat.

Here are 4 reasons we love the Champion Juicer:

  1. A Champion is easy to use
Designed with simplicity in mind, the Champion 2000+ Juicer doesn’t require nuts, bolts, screws or clamps. Assembly can be completed in seconds. Cleaning is equally quick and painless.
  2. A Champion is very versatile
A large feeding chamber reduces prep time by eliminating the need to cut vegetables into smaller pieces. In addition to fresh juices, this unit can also make fruit sauces, baby foods, nut butter, ice cream, sherbets and everybody’s favourite – fruit smoothies. Exchange a single part, and your juicer is instantly transformed into a homogenizer. A grain mill attachment extends your healthier eating choices to include grains and flours.
  3. A Champion is powerful
A heavy-duty motor delivers true, industrial-strength power for an improved masticating process that chews the fibres to break loose high volumes of cells saturated with important healthy values. A floating cutter effectively separates the juice from the pulp in one quiet, continuous – and seemingly effortless – operation. (Bonus: no intermittent cleaning required!).
  4. A Champion is durable
Long-lasting stainless steel construction resists both wear and food odour. A stainless steel shaft is complemented by the tempered stainless steel blades cast directly into the cutter for added strength. This way, the blades will never separate, twist, tarnish or rust. The durability of the Champion 2000+ Juicer is backed by a 5-year limited warranty on all juicing parts and a 3-year warranty on the motor.
