Our Therapies
Whether you have come to Living Valley Springs for healing or for pamper, you will receive the best treatment possible.
Our therapists are specialists in their fields and have the knowledge to bring about optimum healing. The level of professionalism and care is unsurpassed.
Steam baths
Each afternoon you are encouraged to enjoy yourself in a steam bath. For centuries steam baths have been used for therapeutic reasons.
Steam baths are designed to bring about elimination of toxins from the largest organ in the body, the skin.
The gentle steam followed by a cold shower creates a sense of invigoration and well being while providing many beneficial detoxification effects. A great way to finish your afternoon.
Massage Therapy
Our therapists have been trained in an advanced form of the art of Swedish Remedial Massage. These treatments will improve your circulation, relax you, loosen up tight muscles and leave you with a feeling of rejuvenation. Specific problems such as sports injuries, frozen shoulder, chronic back pain, etc are all treated.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
The Lymphatic System is one of the major eliminating systems in the body. Lymphatic vessels run throughout the body and look much like blood vessels, although the Lymphatic System does not have a pump quite like the blood.
With proper breathing and exercise the lymph fluid moves throughout the body carrying toxins to the special dumping stations. Unfortunately because of our western diet and sedentary lifestyle most people have a clogged lymphatic system.
The method of Lymphatic Drainage used at Living Valley Springs was developed by a man named Dr. Vodder who studied the Lymphatic system extensively and developed a method of manipulation of the superficial lymphatic vessels throughout the body.
You will find this gentle massage a totally new experience, very relaxing. This treatment lasts approximately 60 minutes.
Colonic Hydrotherapy
At Living Valley Springs, we have found that the health of the body is determined greatly by the cleanliness of the colon.
The method of Colonic Hydrotherapy we use is called the Chevallum method. The Therapist will insert a catheter into the rectum.
The colon is then washed with water a number of times while the therapist is applying gentle external massage over the stomach on the colon itself.
The wash not only helps to break up any old fecal matter but helps to strengthen and tone the bowel. The colon also has an incredible ability to absorb water as well as herbs. Often we feed the colon with special herb to stimulate and strengthen the affected organs in the body. Each treatment differs in length. We work with the individual needs of each guest.
For your safety each catheter is scrubbed and sterilised using an antibacterial disinfectant and then undergoes further sterilisation under extreme heat according to Q.S.M.I. standards.
Personal catheters are available for a small cost. Once purchased, the new catheter will be yours for any further treatments either at Living Valley Springs or other clinics.
Facial Massage
Your facial will begin by cleansing and exfoliating the skin and will then progress to a relaxing facial massage. This will be followed by a gentle mask which hydrates, purifies and softens the skin.
The treatment will also include hot towels applied to the face, a hand and arm massage and a head and scalp massage leaving you feeling on top of the world.
All of our facial products are made from 100% natural ingredients and we also cater for clients with sensitivities to fragrances or sensitive skin in general.
Your therapist will customise your treatment to your specific skin type and condition, using fragrance free products if necessary or essential oils and herbal tinctures to improve your skin.
Clay Wrap
The Clay Wrap is a very relaxing treatment. It begins with a shower and exfoliation using a natural body polishing gel wash.
Then the therapist covers your body with a cool paste of green or yellow clay. The face is covered with a thin layer of white clay.
Green and yellow clay are powerful detoxing agents that draw toxins out of the body.
White clay which is a more gentle clay is used on the face.
Once the clay is applied, the client lays in the wrap for approximately 30-35 minutes (many are so relaxed that they fall asleep). After the treatment you end with another shower to remove the clay.
This treatment leaves the skin feeling beautifully smooth and clean.
Fever Bath & Cold Sheet Treatment
This treatment is a specialised Hydrotherapy Fever Treatment that has been used for hundreds of years and has been proven to be very beneficial in the treatment of cancer and other chronic illnesses.
The aim of the treatment is to elevate the body temperature by up to 4 degrees Celsius if possible. To achieve this, the patient lays down in a bathtub of hot water to which herbs have been added (cayenne pepper, mustard and ginger). The patient is also given peppermint and ginger tea to drink which also helps to warm the body.
At every degree above the body’s normal temperature the speed of the white blood cells (T-cell, B-cell, macrophages) doubles, which is greatly beneficial to the immune system. Once the fever has risen to the desired temperature, the patient is wrapped in an icy cold sheet and woolen blankets.
This part of the treatment also stimulates the immune system and slowly brings the body temperature down. Following the sheet wrap, the treatment is finished with a tepid shower.

My name is Øivind Otto Hansen and I’m from Norway. Gary Martin and his staff at Living Valley Springs have saved my life – not once, but three times - no doubt about that. I suffer with very severe food allergies from all kind of foods. I’m also allergic to all kind of medicines and anaesthetics which makes it impossible for me to undergo any medical treatments or surgery in hospitals.
