Since 1990 we have been on a mission to impact Australia and the world by empowering people to take charge of their health. Our whole team is passionate about helping you to be in the best health of your life!
"The only hope of better things is in the education of the people in the right principles. Let physicians teach the people that restorative power is not in drugs, but in nature. Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health. In case of sickness, the cause should be ascertained. Unhealthful conditions should be changed, wrong habits corrected. Then nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system."Ministry of Healing (1905) page 127
Living Valley Springs is a registered public benevolent institution established in 1990 to relieve sickness, suffering and distress and to educate about life, health and self preservation. Living Valley also provides advanced training in Natural Therapy for selected students every year.
As Living Valley is a not-for-profit organisation, the fee structure is based on a break-even budget and is subsidised by product sale profit, real estate investments and donations.
Donations help us to provide a superior level of personal care to those who are seriously ill and financially stressed. Donations also help us to develop the property and the facilities, so that Living Valley Springs may always be known for its healing environment, comfortable accommodation and effective treatments.
Donations of $2 and over are fully tax deductible and greatly appreciated. Your gift can be designated to our patient benevolent fund or our development fund. We are sure that gifts to either fund will provide a great deal of personal satisfaction to the giver.
Living Valley changes lives. You can help us to continue helping others by becoming a regular donor. If you are interested in finding out how you can be a part of an ever-growing network of people who are making a difference, please call Gary Martin ND on 1800 644 733 or fill out a donation form by clicking on the link below.
The Living Valley teachings have been adopted by many centres in Australia and overseas.
Gary Martin ND conducts regular seminars and training programs around the world. As a result several health retreats have been established in the USA and the Living Valley Springs program has been adopted by several well-established centres.
Living Valley workers have also established health centres and an orphanage in India. The ten day cleanse has been conducted in an Indian hospital since 1994. Lifestyle training meetings have also been conducted in New Zealand, where it is hoped that a Living Valley styled health retreat will one day be established.
Living Valley also supports health related humanitarian and benevolent projects in various parts of the world.
Gary Martin ND and his daughter Amber travelled to Kenya in 1999 to advise and assist the East African Mission Orphanage in relation to the health of the children. People from all over the world have attended the Living Valley Springs program. As a result, lifestyle reforms have been introduced to even some of the remotest parts of the globe.
At Living Valley we encounter many people who are both physically ill and financially distressed, and we know that we can help them. Some years ago we established a tax deductible patient benevolent fund so that benefactors can help us to help the neediest cases. Your contribution will make a big difference in someone's life. You may even know someone who needs to come to Living Valley Springs but cannot afford it. You can sponsor that person or one of the people on our "Help List" and receive the benefit of a full tax deduction.
There are always genuine cases.
If you feel impressed to help us help them, please call today on 1800 644 733.

The Living Valley program was created by Master Herbalist Al Wolfsen in the USA in the 1940's. Al operated successful cleansing clinics in Hawaii, California and Texas. In 1986, Al conducted training courses in Australia for selected therapists who had demonstrated an interest in establishing genuine health retreats in this country. As a result two families joined forces to create Australia's leading genuine health retreat.
Les Shaw and his wife, Kay, completed the Wolfsen training in late 1986, then established a small health retreat in Mullumbimby, NSW.
Gary Martin, Financier, and his wife Debbie lived in Sydney until late 1986. Gary and Debbie had adopted a number of health reforms and had been studying lifestyle and its relationship to disease for several years. In 1984 they purchased a property in Northern NSW to establish a lifestyle education and treatment centre.
In 1987 the Shaws and the Martins met at a health camp near Kempsey. In 1988 they jointly established the Border Ranges Centre for Health and Lifestyle, while all members of the families continued to study natural medicine.
For two years they tried and tested the Wolfsen 10 day cleanse, achieving nothing less than remarkable results. As patients continued to report their amazing recoveries, the reputation of the centre spread far and wide. They were invited to conduct lifestyle seminars in many parts of Australia, as they encouraged others to join in the new health revolution.
Through miraculous answers to prayer, the two families discovered the Kin Kin property in mid 1990. It was an overrun, grounsel infested jungle, having one dilapidated house and five small cabins. They purchased the title and moved into the cabins on the 8th October 1990.
Within a few weeks, patients were requesting admission. Some rooms were cleaned and the first program was conducted in November of the same year.
After an enormous contribution of energy and resources, the Shaw family retired in late 1993.
Since that time the centre has employed an average of 45-55 workers, most of whom have been qualified in various modalities of natural therapy.
In addition to his duties as General Manager, Lecturer and Naturopath, Gary Martin ND has conducted public health programs throughout Australia, New Zealand, the USA, India and Europe.
Gary's protege, John Tobin BHSc, ND, is the Retreat's Health Program Manager. He has worked with Gary for almost 20 years and is a renowned public speaker and an authority on most health matters.
Since 1990, the Living Valley program has constantly improved. The staff have been educated in an “out-in-the-field” situation and have gained invaluable experience in treating disease and restoring health. From simple problems such as headaches, blood pressure, stress, back pain, poor digestion, obesity, tiredness, etc to more serious conditions such as asthma, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, heart disease, tumours and even cancer, the Living Valley Springs program is effective.
